WHAT IT ISN’T
A Weather Guarantee is not cancellation protection in the event of extreme weather. Instead, a Weather Guarantee is focused on times when the experience of an outdoor event is diminished in value due to less-than-ideal weather, such as rain for 3 hours in the middle of the day. In the event of extreme weather, check with your campground directly on their weather-related policies.
AN EXAMPLE WEATHER GUARANTEE
You’re going on a three-day weekend camping trip to Colorado and book a campsite that costs $40 per night. You booked through ReserveAmerica, which offers a Weather Guarantee that you can add to your stay. In this example, the guarantee costs $9 per night to add (exact costs depend on the location, time of year, and what’s covered).
The Weather Guarantee says that you’ll be reimbursed ahead of time for your night’s stay if it is forecasted to rain for more than two hours between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. the next day.
